I am Vincent Huisman, I live in The Netherlands and I am 23 years old. I am currently studying Computer Science at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
I like programming a lot, I "started" when I was only 4-5 years old. Now I have quite some experience, in various programming contests, projects and system administration tasks.
On the left, under "Projects", is my somewhat outdated portfolio. It is far from complete, because I can't completely keep this site up-to-date on my current timeschedule.
I have compiled a list of (programming) languages I am familiar with:
- Batch
- C
- C++
- PHP
- Perl
- Delphi Pascal
- ARM Assembly
- SAB C504 Assembly (8051-compatible)
- TCL
- Unix shell (bash)
- BASIC
- mIRCScript
- JavaScript
- SQL
- HTML 4.01
- XHTML 1.0
- CSS
Also a small list of other areas I am familiar with:
- Linux system administration
- Computer networks
- Security
- Programming
- Reverse engineering (blackbox and disassembly)
- Databases
- Web design
- Debugging
- Site administration
I have contributed in the following projects:
- iPodLinux Loader2 - the iPodLinux bootloader
- 2007-01-22: Added support for the 5.5th generation 80GB iPod, which uses a different harddrive controller. It needed to be accessed and addressed in a different way, while not breaking support with older iPods.
- iPodLinux Kernel
- 2007-02-26: Added support for the 5.5th generation 80GB iPod
- CHDK
- 2008-01-04 - 2008-04-07: Ported CHDK to the Canon PowerShot S5IS 1.01b, running a new OS which required significant reverse enginnering "from scratch" because not much had been discovered and documented yet.
- 2008-04-07 onwards: Continued development, experiments and research into the S5IS code and supporting other users and developers
- 2008-05-13 onwards: Started working on a branch off the trunk, to experiment with many new features and actual implementations of crippled or hidden camera functionality.
- Canon EOS 40D
- 2008-09-05 onwards: Started coding stuff for the 40D, starting with a movie mode, as a small step towards a CHDK-like firmware add-on.
